Penny

3 1/2 months ago, we found out that our beloved rescue dog Dusty, who was with us for 9 years, had cancer. My husband, son, and I went through the usual sense of impending loss and found ourselves treasuring Dusty’s last months with us. As much as we thought we were prepared, we were a mess when we actually had to take her to the vet’s office to allow her to have her peace. That was a Monday. Thursday of the same week, I was laid off from the company that I had worked with for 26 years. Yep……lost my dog and job in the same week! Very difficult. So, I knew I needed to fill that hole in my heart and look for another dog to rescue. Each morning I looked for a new dog and every afternoon I looked for a new job. I e-mailed the organizations that had dogs I was interested in and filled out application after application. Sometimes I got no response or sometimes I got feedback about the dog that wouldn’t work for us. Eventually I stumbled upon Penny at http://www.castle-of-dreams.com/, filled out the application and very soon thereafter I heard from Liana. She was so positive about Penny and couldn’t wait to tell us how lucky we would be to have her as part of our lives. Liana helped me by being flexible as to when we met Penny and even helped me through my moment of cold feet. We met Penny and brought her home the same night. Oh she was a nervous wreck!!!! This puppy was rescued from a shelter by Castle of Dreams and was lucky enough to be fostered in two homes but that’s a lot of change for an 11 month old puppy. I am grateful she was saved by this selfless group of people. So we’ve had her just about a week now and I am in love. She is happy, fun, and cuddly. I know her fear of new situations will abate as she learns that she is in her forever home. My job search is going great and I feel confident that great things are just around the corner. This lucky Penny has filled that hole in our hearts. Thank you Liana and Castle of Dreams.

Sadie

Its been a few months now, I just wanted to shot you an email to give you an update on Sadie. She is doing very well, she has been running around terrorizing our other two dogs and being a crazy puppy. The whole family loves her and she gets along great with everyone, except for our resident squirrel, she keeps trying to climb a tree to get him, one day I think she might actually do it, haha. Her Billie and Jackson get tons of exercise by running around on the beach or running through the marsh, she absolutely loves the marsh, she enjoys getting super muddy. She has gone swimming a few times trying to chase Billie our Wiemaraner, her and Jackson have become thick as thieves and play nonstop all the time. Shes eating well, has a clean bill of health from the vet, she has more toys and bones than I think even she knows what to do with it. Overall shes doing great and I cannot thank you enough for adopting her to us, we love her and are very happy to have her. I attached a picture of her after a day in the marsh and a video of her at the beach.

Thank you again,
Chris

Napoleon

I wanted to let you know that Napoleon is home safe & sound. He made the trip just fine – he’s a good traveler. In this picture he is making himself at home in the cat’s bed! We have an appointment with his new vet on Monday. Thanks again for everything.

Itzy

Anyway I was telling you I got a cozy bed, toys, a comb and a crate. I came home and ate all my dinner. New Mom added some cottage cheese and I loved it. I slept great last night and today I let mom brush me out. I was so good that she gave me a bath and I loved it. Then I watched Petey get his bath I hung over the edge of the tub to tease him This place is great!! I’ve been asking mom to play with me and she lets me run around and bark. Yes you heard me I play, bark and eat. I think I’m gonna love it here. Tomorrow mom wants to take me and Petey for a walk She bought a splice for the leash so we can walk next to each other. Petey is going to show me how to do it! I hope your proud of me !! Mom and I want to Thank You for bringing us together. It’s a match made in heaven. Guess the Chase dog did his job. I love you mom for saving me and so many other dogs and finding us new loving homes. You are very special!!! Love Mia (Itzy) Yup. Got a new name

Bruno aka (Woody)

We were looking for a 3rd dog.
I was having coffee one morning when I looked at this Community Paper and there he was.
We made a beautiful connection.
He looked just like one of my Chihuahua’s.

I knew right there and then I needed to give him a great life and home with us.
He came home with us yesterday and we all love him what a wonderful and kind dog.
Thank You!! Jeanne Greenwald and Castle of Dreams, for our new family member. xoxo

Holly

We love Holly and she is such a wonderful addition to our family. We took these pictures quickly but we will send more when when the kids are here. She is completely housebroken and we don’t even need to crate her anymore. She still loves to chew and play with her toys. She is crazy with the snow and runs around like a speed racer! She comes to her name and doesn’t need to be on the leash in the front (without a fence) to play.

She is smart and such a wonderful family dog.

Thank you so much for taking care of her and bring her to us. We love her and she is perfect!

Katie

Mister Jibbs

The pup has gained some weight in the last couple of months & has adapted well to our family. We are so blessed to have him. Take care, Christine & John

Isabel

I adopted Isabel (who was previously called Syriah) from Castle of Dreams in March 2010. The photo on the left is “Izzy” when we first saw her. She had just had 4 puppies and was rescued from a hoarder in North Carolina. She ws so skinny and scared. The photo on the right is her sunning herself on my deck and loving her new life. She is still very nervous and all she wants to do is sit in your lap but she is the sweetest dog. We all love her and she gets along great with my Bichon Max. I tell everyone I know about Castle of Dreams and what a great organization you are.
